Hi, A very big sorry from me for the lack of information this year. Major problems with my life has made it difficult to do normal things. 22nd is the date, as mentioned above. Sadly we had to move the date due to a double booking although the 2017 show has been booked and for the 7th May. The format will be as previous years, turn up, park and chat. Judge for your favourite Saab, Volvo and truck. I will work on the Saturday evening meal for those staying in the area. There is free camping again but remember that there are no facilities once the pub is shut. Sadly the main website is down and I will need to find a new host. This I will do asap but packing and moving back to my house is taking the strain,,,,,,, but I will win, lol. Happy for pms you want other information. Robin

Sorry to hear about your troubles Robin, I was at last year's Swedish day in the S70 below & enjoyed it I won't be able to make this years more than likely I'll be working. Good luck with it

Hi Robin....tried to contact you a few days ago to let you know 'a few' cars from VolvoTuning will be attending. I started a Facebook Events page just yesterday, already looking like a good attendance bolstering the Volvo numbers

It's a shame it clashes with the southern bkv, it means a lot of tidy Volvos will be elsewhere. I'll be there as always tho :)

I'm tempted to come along with ade Wilkins and (Christian sawyers if he's going) I know ade's going i was speaking with him the other night. Or do I go to the BKV and suffer age discrimination lol

Looking forward to this... Hotel is Booked and the numbers are looking good so far...30+ Volvos marked as attending from the VolvoTuning Event page :B_thumb: Image

A few from VolvoSportUK are going too I posted it up a while back, because voc wouldn't due to the clash.

Post 800472 by stephenevans99 on 2016-05-03 18:27:33

Hopefully we'll be able to balance the numbers this year....I believe the SAAB's have considerably outnumbered the Volvo's in previous years. Should be a good day....I do like the odd SAAB too lol

Post 800474 by Ettienne on 2016-05-03 19:22:21

Fingers crossed, should be a good turn out, I too like the old Saab's and very nearly bought a 900 aero (old 900) and am a member on a couple of Saab groups with people who organise Saab days.

Keeping options open, but I like this event, so I'll try to be there

Post 800561 by Nealevo on 2016-05-04 22:39:23

I'm home so should be in attendance

Post 800565 by Ettienne on 2016-05-05 07:04:55

It is tempting, but BKV is 2 miles from my house.
It is tempting, but BKV is 2 miles from my house.
....and we all know that will end in tears :argue:
....and we all know that will end in tears :argue:
Your not wrong Steve, Again no space for xc70s! Oh well just pop brand new one in my class, I don't mind competing against cars 10 years newer and a different platform, of course and p3 convertibles (that do no mileage) and p3 v70s

Post 801147 by Ettienne on 2016-05-21 09:53:17

What's the weather like down in crewkerne? BKV is going to be a wash out, tempted to just jump in the xc90 or Vauxhall to go tbh as no point in showing as its half the fun.

Post 801149 by stephenevans99 on 2016-05-21 11:09:29

I've unpacked my suncream lol....weather does not look good :( Expected dry until Lunch then heavy rain later in the afternoon....at least the rain will hide the dirt lol

Post 801150 by Harvey on 2016-05-21 12:10:33

Just looked on met office site . Dry and dull until 16.00 then rain so could be ok.

Post 801151 by Ettienne on 2016-05-21 13:41:18

I've got it as rain after lunch but it's the roads that will be the worst part tbh.

Post 801152 by Ettienne on 2016-05-21 13:43:08

Got it as 2pm onwards getting heavy from 3pm, if your local prob not too bad
311 cars in all I believe.
How many Volvos, any idea? (can be difficult to know)

Post 801212 by M-R-P on 2016-05-22 19:35:40
How many Volvos, any idea? (can be difficult to know)
At a guess, I'd say 80-100.

Post 801214 by Ettienne on 2016-05-22 19:40:31

That's similar to what we had 80 ish, a lot of Saab then (as usual)

Post 801218 by Harvey on 2016-05-22 22:25:52

Was a good day out , shame about the rain shower we had but the sun did come out after :) Was good to meet up with old & new faces.

Myself and robin are teaming up to create many more Swedish events, a lot of the venue I use can accommodate more vehicles. The September at beaulieu national motor museum I have altered to allow Saab's as its far too big to fill with just Volvos. A new Facebook page has been created and everything will be posted there and in the Volvo driver magazine. Once is all sorted as next year events are already in the planning I'll post up a link.
