However, I find it a little sneaky for a manufacturer to advise a customer to perform a service on the brakes - on the family car in which I transport the kids around - in order to ensure that they continue to function properly, but not cover it in the service schedule. This is because this is purely a recommendation and not a requirement as this is considered to be an extra to the routine service, it is not therefore covered by the plan and this is confirmed in the service plan literature. I'm just miffed that they can on one hand recommend that it is needed, and on the other, not cover it.
