Hi all,
Been into n/a beemers for a few years with e30's and e46s and been on the show scene a bit also...
Now we have a family XC90 and that's kinda turned me onto something a little more lively and Swedish for me. Looking for a C70 cabriolet to get me through the summer and probably longer.
Like the idea of a nice easy map on a turbo but not sure yet what engine etc. Is there an idiots guide at all of what to look for or be weary of.
Probably looking to spend about £2k so know that it wont get me much...
Any help would be mucho appreciated...
Thanks

Ive just gone through the same process having owned a V70 for the last 5 years and now bought a 2.4T GT around the price range your looking at, I did quite a bit of reading on the various forums + other web sites as I couldn't find all the information in one place, I tended to find a snippet of information here and a snippet of information there.
What I found was that they all tended to say go for either the 2.4 or the 2.3T5 as the 2 litre's are a bit under powered for the weight of the car, its a case of the usual checking all the electrics work as they should, plenty of service history (ideally by Volvo or Volvo specialist)
Check Top of B post for signs of rust. Check roof operation works as it should.
If you purchase one that hasn't got the strut brace fitted I would suggest fitting one would be a good modification as it cuts down a lot of the scuttle shake but even with it fitted it does not entirely eliminate it.
Hope this helps, I'm sure others will be along shortly to add more.

Thanks for that... Same here, reading and trawling and more reading... Not that much around to be fair... I think I want manual for the faster acceleration and better MPG. Also looking at whatever I get to get it mapped anyway...

I did read in one of threads to check for rust generally and on rear quarters where rear bumper attached, I gather from another forum member Don at Kalmar Union does a MTE map for them too.
