Has anyone tried or own a 2014D Super Volvo Dice Pro+ Diagnostic Scan Tool VIDA Version OBD2. There seems to be two versions on offer on ebay.com. If so, will these provide coders and function controls for the C70 Mk1 cabrio roof? Burgess

Vida/DICE ALL communicate via OBD2 and read all cars post 1996. Limitations via software. Other than the physical difference in the case, the internals will be identical. What do you mean when you say 'will these provide coders'? There will be functions and automation that VIDA can control but these will be limited on a MK1 C70. Your Q is very specific and I doubt anyone can answer it. If you want my advise, just buy this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301943245398?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT It's the same as the one I have and I know it works very well. However, the hardest nut to crack is getting the software to work on a laptop. (It took me 6 months and I had help from a Volvo agent!). I'm using 2013D as it's a known working edition.

Lee, you have no idea how good it is for me to hear you say you struggled with the software! I bought one months ago, had to buy win 7 pro too. Never got it working. Was going to reinstall windows as not entirely convinced it upgraded correctly but never got around to it. That was the 2014d version buy the way.

I never really had any problems getting it to work on my old toughbook. Just followed the guides online. 2014d was the version I used

There a number of youtube.com videos about these, in those videos things like the door locks can be operated via the PC interface. However, none are specifically used with a Mk.1 C70 Cabrio roof function, hence my question. It is for specifically to fault find and re-calibrate the roof functions that needs to be done. If the either of these cannot do the job then I will look to invest in authentic Volvo equipment. Spelling mistake coders should read ‘codes' i.e., short for fault codes.

Do you know, or can you check if the PC interface will provide the functions I need to fault-find and hopefully operate the C70 Mk.1 roof.

Yes it was software, but no necessarily the VIDA software. It was the SQL software that is required to work in the background with VIDA that caused my issues. This is mainly to do with Windows, not VIDA. The VIDA software was ok. There were other running issues too buts that's all on a another thread over on V70R.com or Sweedspeed, can't remember which.

Yeah, from vague memory I think that's what my issue was too Lee.
