Afternoon all, After my initial success of restoring all services to my v70 t5 the saga continues. So the car has no lights on the dash then suddenly the3 lights come on i.e. Abs, stc & red exclamation mark followed by speedo, rev counter and temp gauge dropping off. The car will remain going and drives absolutely fine however if I stop it it will briefly run ten run off. No matter how many times you crank it will not restart. If you disconnect the battery lead and leave it for an hour it will be back to normal and will run again for another 250ish miles. If you check the codes ecm-912a comes up along with siren fault, interior temp fault and clutch position sensor fault. The only point to mention is that the temp is low i.e. Between zero and normal. I will be changing thermostat, etc sensor and clutch position sensor this week. Has anyone any ideas? Many thanks Rory

The dim (speedo) has failed. It's very common in the early p2 cars.
The dim (speedo) has failed. It's very common in the early p2 cars.
I believe you have some experience of this issue Martin :) , I also seem to remember you have a video of the solution.

Ok thanks for that. As you may know this car has been a royal pain in the @rse however I feel I made some progress. I got the abs module rebuilt and the etc was tested as good, it had been previously rebuilt by Ecu testing. When I got the replacement dim from a scrap car (with exact same serial numbers) I noticed the digital info part of the unit wasn't working so I knew it would need checking eventually. I will send it off to ecu testing to see if they can fix it then try that. I know a lot of people may be saying "take it to the dealers" however from speaking to them here they give no confidence, however I will after this should it prove no difference. Thanks again

I believe the dim has to be coded to your car, so you can't just swap one from another car.

The dealership will only try to sell you a new dim.
