Im beginning to hate thiscar now. No matter what i try the service light is still flashig its ugly face at me.
And it still wont rev past 5500rpm. Its really starting to piss me off. Im ready for throwing petrol over it n letting it burn.
Please, someone must know. I will pay anythi g to get it working properly. If not its getting fired

Im near selby/pontefract and work in wakefield if your close by!!
Its really frustrating me.
I need someone who knows what theyre doing. The engine was replaced before i got it. There was plugs and all sorts unplugged, i need someone to go over it to make sure its all plugged in as it should be. Vac lines and everything!
The cruise control and tracs doesnt work so could it be a clutch switch or something like that? The port A2 comes back as 1-1-1. Port A7 wint reset the service light but A3 came up with code 4-4-4. Reset it and nothing came back

Abs light on? Could be sensor or quite often it's the connectors on the abs wheel sensor or a ring, never anything terrible or expensive even 2nd hand abs pump / module are quite cheap and wobbly repairs them iirc.
Cruise works on vacuum on the pedal, diaphragm on pedal often splits or a vac line to the pump under the battery tray.

No abs lights on. I will test the sendors one evening, snd i need someone to check the vac lines as they could be plugged into anything! I dont get any lights or any notification when turning the cruise button on

I know how you feel bud.
I have three Volvos and at the moment one has just eaten a gearbox, the second one keeps melting alternators and the third one has just blown the head gasket.
Hang in there all will be well in the end!

Does the ABS light come on with ignition, then go off after a few seconds?
Cruise has no light or anything, but I don't think it will work with a ballsed up ABS system. Maybe that's the newer stuff though.
There is a nack to using it though:
Will only activate once over something like 30mph.
Absolutely no pressure on the clutch or brake pedals (no resting your foot on the clutch)
Move switch to "On"
Press + or - to set the speed.

Did Dana give you a warranty. .....silly question really...if I was closer I'd love to come and give you a hand at getting her running right

Yeah abs light comes on and goes off after its started, as does the tracs light.
Im thinking its vac line related but theres so many i cant work out which goes to where!
Ha, warranty!!......

Oh ffs. Didn't realise it was from Dana. Or maybe I selectively forgot.
Is it any wonder he's built up the reputation he has? :(
Know what you mean about warranties though.
Even if you did get one with the car (which I seriously doubt) they're usually not worth the paper they're written on.
My XC90 threw up an ABS fault the day after I bought it, but the dealer didn't want to know.
"I knocked £xxx off the price" was his response. Despite me saying that was without an ABS fault he wasn't interested.
I've reset it for now, but if it comes back I may just go and park it in his office.
car dealers. They're all

I would be inclined to get it booked in with either Tim Williams or Shem Green, so that they can give the car a quick once over and a clean bill of health.

Rumour has it the only way to solve a flashing service light is to change a circuit board in the clocks!
Post 807331 by leet5r on 2016-11-18 17:00:26
have you changed the clocks to see if it will rev past 5500
Post 807337 by Craigyt on 2016-11-18 18:53:54
No, i cant find a set yet!! Im booked in with tim williams to have a good look over it so he might see something obvious or know what it could be!
