Thanks for the help and answers
Averaged 40mpg on my 61 plate mapped one. A bit more info on year and the like from your side might make for more responses.....
Looks like we've got another bongodave.
Wonder what old Dave is up to these days?......he was a bit special.....
Wonder what old Dave is up to these days?......he was a bit special.....
Taken up a career as a musician, possibly? http://www.bongodave.co.uk/
Taken up a career as a musician, possibly? http://www.bongodave.co.uk/
Lol... there's more than one bongo Dave. ...must be his coloured cousin.... Any back on track.....my d5 although heavier as it's an xc90 returns 50mpg on a good run and averages 32mpg running about around hilly mid wales. But more recently turned in a excellent 40mpg pulling an empty ivor Williams tilt bed car transporter and 28mpg for the return journey loaded with an 850 T-5 grossing about 4.75 ton, not bad me thinks

  Bongodave outed after 2 posts :welcome:
Tbh I really only noticed this post last night and I like the think I'm a regular here
The post went up saturday evening and was edited sunday morning. That's not much time for people to read it.
Colin was nearly right...not old bongo....just his long lost less articulate twin :dunce: Don't worry OP - I already know I can be a cunny funt.....oh, what a play on words ......pure genius.
The post went up saturday evening and was edited sunday morning. That's not much time for people to read it.
Well that depends on the forum really. THis place has been almost as dead as a Dodo in recent months. Regulars may be reading, but not much posting going on. I come on numerous times a day and hit 'Whats New' and lucky if there's more than 3 threads a day that's been updated. Then something like this kicks off and all of a sudden everyone is only too eager to chip in!
Thanks for the help and answers
Were all here to help but other than your Title all I can see is '%%%%', presumably sent from your mobile device? I'm guessing they were originally "????", then you posted agin..."????". Your sarcasm and blatantly rude demanding replies will get you nowhere! :cuckoo: However, seeing as I'm here I may aswell comment. A manual D5 will be great on Fuel. An Auto D5 will be 'less' great on fuel. You may, of course, get more helpful answers with actual useful info (and no sarcasm) by Googling 'V70 D5 fuel consumption'. Here's what I found....https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=volvo+v70+d5+fuel+consumption I tried to be as helpful as I possibly can. As Blackdog said....MORE INFO! Is is a 2.4, 2.5, AWD, FWD P1, P2, P3????? You get me? Hope that helps! :saythat:
Well that depends on the forum really.
11 yesterday and 23 the day before that!
Well I expected that from someone, but what was the point? Anyone who is on here daily know's it's quiet. Very quiet. It may have been 11 yesterday and 23 the day before, it may even be 100 today, but there have been days in the last few weeks when it's been down to 3-5 in a day.
Yep, has been quiet - I blame the recent selling of my 855 :(
Yep, has been quiet - I blame the recent selling of my 855 :(
it's the spring (or is it summer now? :)) everyone is selling up oh I found a thread about D5 mpg, to maintain the illusion of being on topic http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=171223

Aye apologies guys ....I guess I'm used to quite fast paced forums plus when I posted I thought you ££££ just bloody Google it hence me editing. But that aside yea a 2.4 d5 auto about mid 30s town and maybe early/mid 40s on a run depending on speed ect ect. As regards not much posting in general, I used vpc a few years ago, 8-10 and think it was livelier but that was then. I guess I'll need to be more patient on here...who's bongodave...
...who's bongodave...
Don't ask, ffs! Yeah, it is quiet on here lately. Possibly because most people post on the Facebook groups these days, or maybe they're just busy. I know I don't really have much free time any more, same with a few members I've spoken to. Anyway, the figures you quote don't sound too bad tbh. Maybe slightly low, but it all depends on driving style. Plus it is an auto. They are a big, heavy bus. Moley's XC90 figures are above average I'd say, as they're usually a fair bit worse due to the size and weight. My old mega-mileage 850TDi does about 32-34 around the houses, and low-mid 40s on a run, but I have a lead right foot and carry at least 1/3 of a ton in tools. Plus, it needs timing properly.

Forgot how hilarious it was to watch him at work! JamesT5 was also hilarious. He's on a couple of the FB groups, still as deluded as ever. Recently threatening to take a manufacturer of known poor quality driveshafts to court as they've bent. He was warned about them time and again from what I can gather. Good luck with that, Fella. Any decent sized company's brief would tear your claim apart. Based on previous experience, I'm guessing it wouldn't be hard to find fault with his installation.
If one thing this thread has achieved; Moley drives like a fanny!
OI. .. I still drive a faster car than you..even when loaded with wobbley's cement and balast. .. :)
OI. .. I still drive a faster car than you..even when loaded with wobbley's cement and balast. .. :)
Yeah, thanks for leaving me stuck in the car park. When I finally got out you'd all gone and I had no idea where I was! Your XC90 is definitely faster than mine though. Mine is broken.
That was a funny day :)
Dont take it personally mate, it was a tongue in cheek comment. :)
Hairy muff
That was a funny day :)
It certainly was, bunch of volvo's and trannie van racing around Telford heavily loaded with cement and ballast
Regulator I THINK, Ade. May just get the whole alternator refurbed for what it's worth. Massive ballache to get out of the V8, so don't fancy doing it twice if it turns out to be the freewheel pulley.
Change of subject now eh
Nah...I guess it's ran it's course plus there's plenty on Google about out so was pointless asking.
