Hello everyone, Its been some time since being on here , Wife is looking to change her 2006 XC70 to an XC90 She knows what spec it must be,,,,, leather dark heated seats , automatic ! We dont know alot about these but she wants the ride height and awd We dont need the 7 seats , do those rear ones come out? What to look out for ? what to avoid, again looking around the same year 2006 ish Any advice really appreciated , thanks Ploppy and Mrs Ploppy

the rears fold into the floor very neatly, got to watch for a hike in tax on 2006 models and onwards, there's plenty out there but fewer with dark interiors

Make sure the 4WD works, and check all the electrics. As Ade said, the most rearward seats just fold out of the way, once down, you wouldn't know they're there.

If you buy a V8, make sure it's had a new alternator recently, ffs!

We bought it as a good runner (but wasn't knocking) which we replaced the engine on, I'm led to believe it was the Bosch ecu that was at fault over injecting diesel melting a piston. Whilst about it we had all maintenance done and it's been brilliant since. Drop links, engine mounts, rear arm bushes to poly, 4 wheel bearings (skf) it should be good a while. I think half the problem was it was serviced every 15k but that was town miles, it's done every 5k now.

Stereos packing up on the XC90 is quite a common problem. :(

What's an ICM? (Ignition Control Module)? If it is, key pushes into the dash, that's ALSO a very common failure! Bloody Ford's
