Got myself a t5 last week. Just done a service and found something odd under the bonnet. There's a unit on the right hand side of the engine with a number of brake pipes coming out of the top of it. I'm guessing it's an abs unit? Towards the front of the unit there's a black plastic cover. Here's the strange thing. Someone at sometime has jammed what looks like 3 library/shell cards in the gap between the black plastic cover and the brake pipes. Any idea why?

nope, but if it's all working fine, I'd suggest that you leave it there, but I would check that the abs trac lights still work on the dash correctly first and not had the bulbs removed, the abs is prone to electronic faults which normally are dry solder joints and are usually a cheap fix.

Will leave it alone! Good job I have my own shell card :)

The pins on the socket come lose on the printed circuit board.
Normally means taking it apart and re-soldering the connections.
By wedging it to has possibly fixed the ABS . Normally only temporary fix.
As in above reply. Not too bad to fix properly.
Roger.

I still repair them and you can then remove/keep the library cards
