I have just purchased a 2016 XC60 R Design D5. Just listened to the news telling me by the time (2040) I reach 95 I will have to give up my Diesel. I will be very pleased if I reach 95 as now 75.

You won't have to give your diesel up. They are banning sales of NEW diesel and petrol cars by the year 2040, it'll be a long time after that petrol and diesel will be fully phased out, if they are ever.

I was at Goodwood this year, as you know, and I saw (in the technology lab) a French company that have developed a protortype 3 wheeled Carcopter!! The rotors fold in and it can be driven using the electric motors at up to 80 km/h on the road. Then you stop, unfold the rotors and the thing takes off! Genius! I reckon we'll start seeing them in about 30 years time? Cost will be 6 figures!
Given the quality of driving standards, can you imagine when more people are taking to the skies?
