I'm really sick of spider webs between my wing mirrors and A pillars.
I've never had this problem (or at least to such an extent) with any other car, but for some reason spiders are obsessed with nesting behind my wing mirrors and building their webs up to the A pillar. I remove them when I wash the car, and they are back again the following day. Even if I blast the mirror with the hose or jetwash, so there should be a hell of a torrent in behind the glass, it doesn't get rid of them.
After 5 years of year round webs dangling either side, I've had enough. I'm off for a bit of googling but in the meantime, anyone got any good tips for getting rid and preventing the little buggers wanting to return?

Get pet tarantuals and keep them in your wing mirrors.

Floor it at two am the little beggars get blown out or have to invest in tiny crash helmets.

It's nasty but fly killer will do the job.

I think you're being a little harsh! If I were a spider, I'd choose a Volvo to make my home in too!
Spiders love my mirrors too. I just jet was them out now and again.

I should point out I'm not anti spider per se. And if I catch them in the house I release them outside. In fact I felt quite bad the other day as I stepped on one by accident. Silly bugger was sat on the living room floor and as I walked towards it (having not seen it) the dafty ran towards me and right under my foot. I saw the movement in my periphery vision and although I thought it was just fluff moving from me creating a draft, I still instinctively didn't put my foot right down. So I didn't crush it but mortally injured it. He curled up and went for a long sleep.
Anyhoo, apparently they are not a fan of white vinegar or citrus smells. We have white vinegar, and my wife keeps essential oils so I think I shall make up a small spritz bottle of water with either vinegar or orange essential oil and spray that in around the edge of the glass and see if that dissuades them. If it works I'll just keep the bottle in the car and do it regularly. My car may look a heap but I can't abide the constant webs from the mirrors!
