Ok maybe not the best way to introduce yourself but hey it’s different.Ive been looking at site for a while and thought it rude not to introduce myself.
So as I mentioned in another post I’m pretty green when it comes to tuning but I’m start img to pick up a few things from reading the post and asking questions,so thanks for that.
I bought my 850R and it luckily had quite a bit of work done to it by Shem so it’s pretty well put together apart from possible bent rod but I may be wrong and I hope I am.
I’m sure I can come up with some stupid or obvious questions so sorry in advance.

In fairness I will have to check if it is actually bent or something else,don’t want to speak out of turn on somebody else’s work.
It’s has been suggested a manifold gasket failed.
Not sure how but maybe I could video it and hopefully the sound will be clear enough to shed some light.

Started first time,did have a fuel leak though so got AA to come out and sort it,will get him to have a listen too.

The audible sign of a bent rod is a light ticking noise, much like that of an an old tappet being in need of adjustment, which rises exactly in frequency with engine speed.
If you have a bent rod it will be as a result of an uncontrolled spike in boost, generally at low revs.
Poor, unsympathetic mapping, wastgate actuator adjustment or the removal of a pipe from the actuator would do it..... amongst other things....

Ok Don let’s say it’s a bent rod.
What does that mean in financial terms?Just put in a new rod,or new rod and pistons?
What s my best and worst scenario.
