C30 T5 R-Design, 2010 Some quick pictures of my latest Volvo, replacing the trusty 850 T5 (with a gap of nearly 1.5 years), loving it... handling is top notch and still retains the 5 cylinder character, less boot space and similar economy are the only downsides. Got rather lucky with this car, 1 mile from my sister's house in the UK - totally immaculate, plenty of options ticked and spare set of wheels/tyres, roof racks and load cover, chap had just powder coated the new Volvo 18" Medusa wheels and added a Miltek :o Only 48k miles too so can stay a while :) Image Image Image Image Image Do I have to leave the forum and find some C30 place? :deal:

Haha - Thanks Adrian, I had been hanging around whilst only having a company A4 for the last year, imagine that... blasphemy!

Cheers Ned - I didn't see many at all for sale on the facelift and R-Design, there are a few of the older shape up for sale in T5 guise (some are 220bhp not 230bhp also), but a lot of these are looking quite tired these days. I've done a couple of thousand miles now and am really enjoying it, only issue encountered was poor air conditioning (a killer in this hot spell), a regas helped but it seemed to deteriorate and led me to get the condenser changed. Apparently this is a very common fault on the C30/S40/V50/C70, so be careful on checking quality of cold air on any you view, need to factor in around £300 for buying a Valeo unit and getting it fitted if you do find weak A/C.

After 6 months ownership and around 2.5k miles (I'm not a heavy user at all), I have to report back on the C30 T5... Only faults - Air Con Condenser fitted and regas, about £300 in total using a £90 Valeo replacement part. General Opinion - Little bit quicker than my 850 T5, seats excellent, handling very tidy, full of kit like cornering xenons, cruise, rain sensing wipers, heated and motorised seats with memory etc. all makes it a very nice place to be, only downsides are the loss of rear doors and poorer load lugging capabilities. Economy virtually identical to my 850. Conclusion - I'd definitely recommend one, particularly in R Design trim as a quick, sporty yet comfy steer. Read a lot of reviews before buying and these are not always glowing compared to the Focus ST, but I drove them back to back and the ride and handling on the phase 2 and R Design kit is certainly on par, with a slightly better image, this surprised me but was good to find.
