Hi Folks :wavey: I'm Andrew and I'm a recovering Volvoholic (P80 era). Used to sell them (new and used) when in my mid 20s (1995-1998) @ Barkingside Volvo ... now a Lidl store ! :( Well that was over 20 years ago now - ouch!) My dad had 244 GL, 244 GLT, 760 Turbo Manual+Overdrive HPT (1984) and later another 760 Turbo Manual+Overdrive LPT (1990). Mum had 343 DL, [SIZE=4]360 GLT (1983) <<< became my 1st car[/SIZE] when she got a 440 Turbo (1990) I later ending up running a later, power-steering equipped 360 GLT on an F-reg (1988). Massive massive 360 GLT fan back in the day (and before it had 'drifting cred'). I used to do lots of bespoke mods to both my GLTs ... probably a good material for a future seperate post or three in the appropriate forum! ? Last Volvo ran was 1 of (3) SORN Volvos on my drive: (R97) Volvo S70 CD 2.5T Auto Nautic Pearl Met. with (mushroom) colour leather interior. Exactly the same ext. and int. as per (R97) S70 CD 2.5 20V Man, normally aspirated. The latter seems to be destined to become a doner car / broken for parts (although it still ran as sweet as anything, right up to when I last parked it under a tree on my drive). Other car is a silver/black leather interior C70 GT 2.5T Manual Coupe. Ever since when I purchaed it - there was a battery drain problem, one I never got to the bottom of. It most certainly involves lots of dodgy rusty earth cable connections at the chassis and power cables in general past their sell-by date. That and old nokia h/f car kit wiring and other ICE wiring that is permanent 'live' when shouldn't be! Went like ££££ off a shovel !! I have noticed over the years that all the 2.5T ones do in P80 cars. Much more 'real world' performance (esp. AUTO guise cars) - manual too ... and esp. in being able to put the power down / lack of too much lag. - I am here because I kept forgetting my username and passwords on VolvoForumsOrg (and innocently created a few different profile names reflecting the cars I ran at the time). Suddenly I had a LIFETIME ban (no warning or anything!). Anyway this site looks the most promising/active of alternatives that I have joined !? New job with a small company van means I need to juggle things on the drive (3x SORN Volvos, 1x VW Passat TDi DSG and 1x VW Touran TDi Man) ... let's say that the wife is going to kill me soon !! The low mileage 2.5TAuto S70 = most likely to be made 'runner' again if I can without too much pre-MoT grief. 70K+ miles only it's the best of 2x very very nice for their age ex-Volvo cars (PFC reg #s).
