Good question, mine is also blocked off, first time ive seen a photo of an airbox with a pipe coming off it.
Is the car an Auto , R or AWD ?? My P1 V70 also just has blanking cap

Looking at the pic in more detail The car would appear to be left hand drive (position of master cylinder) So i would assume its probs something to do with emissions and recirculation of gases for foreign market emission levels as some countries have lower emission levels permited by law than the uk Cheers stuart

nah it's a 10valve engine by the looks of it..hence NO turbo on the airbox...my guess it is a ventilation hose. meffs...some people always want more!...less is more astro!
Boost hose on the top of the engine and coming out of the intercooler gives it away a bit ? hehe Chris
