Hello,
So I have had a few volvo's and there have been a fair few family ones as well but I now am the owner of an 03 S60 T5 with about 78k on the clock that I plan to tastefully mod over the years. It has an autobox so want to get power to around the 300hp mark and do a few exteriror things to freshen up the car but for now she has been stage 0'd and pulls like a train, and then I cry as the fuel gauge plummits.
Any ideas, comments or suggestion welcomed but for now she will stay stock as budget is not on my side with the purchase of a new house but I will do bits and build her up.
Cheers
Craggsie

Very nice :)
A remap would be a staring point, not sure how much they cost these days though.
Then there's exhaust mods, brake mods, intake mods, then bigger turbo, injectors, downpipe, custom remap....
Anyway, it looks like you take care of your Volvo so go out and enjoy it :D

Thanks ! I try and keep her clean, the previous owner had the car for 15 years so its relatively well looked after just a few bumps and bruises on the front bumper to take care of.
I think maps vary on who you go with, I have put on a BSR intake already which I rather enjoy. I think handling mods are going to be my next stage though as I enjoy spirited driving I dont just need the instant speed aspect. So coilovers and brake setup next, which wont be cheap haha
Yes trying to all the time :D

You could get some Wurth plastic polish to rejuvinate the grey bumper inserts, might be worth a look.
Whereabouts in the country are you based? You might be lucky and have one of the well respected mappers nearby...

The plastic strips on the front and rear bumpers are very easy to replace and cost peanuts from Volvo.
I'd not bother trying to mask 16 years of UV damage as I myself have been there, wasted countless money on products that fade and only last weeks. Just buy brand new trims and coat them in Aerospace 303 before you fit. :B_thumb:

I managed to bring my 21 year old (at the time) 850 bumpers, side strips and mirror surrounds back to life with bumper dye, worked a treat and lasted.
Although I guess if the strips are cheaper, or not so different, than the bumper dye which was about £20, then new strips make sense.

thanks for the suggesitons on the bumper stuff, I have had a look around and seem to be struggling to source OEM ones but can find ebay parts but not sure how well these would fit but worth a go at least i guess. Might see if i can source them from volvo directly and how much they want me to bend over for them.
So with the car it has the sports suspension (i.e. slightly lowered) from factory but I was looking at coilovers, there seem to either be BC coilovers or K&W has anyone used anything else or heard of any other decent brands as if i am going to spend a grand at least i want to make sure they are worth it.
Cheers
