Heard from a friend at the factory this facility is now permanently shut after 20 years. It was always the highlight of our trips to Gothenburg for me, it will be sadly missed. I also believe it’s now much more difficult to go around the factory other than the “blue train tour” again a real shame.

Do you mean the Hällered proving ground? That would be a shame, this PG is very good, with excellent comfort test tracks. I don't see why they'd do that, except that maybe production and development is now too much far away from Sweden (1 new production plant in the states, 3 in China and one more under construction). Anyways, it isn't surprising: when I was in Hällered 3 years ago there really wasn't much going on, and for example, plenty of the comfort tuning of the new XC40 was done in Spain PG :confused:

I’m glad I got to go 4 times before it closed.
