North East Meets!

Right people after a recent pole it was good to get a decent list of members, or at least enough of us in the area to justify a meet.
Looking at the locations of most of the people on the list it appears that most of us are up past Durham and mainly concentrated around Newcastle so ive taken the decision to leave out a Teeside area for a meet unless people suggest otherwise.
As lil_me has suggested a good pub at the arniston centre area in Durham I think this would be a good spot to kick off a meet as its right near the A1 and central in the North East for people like me down in Teeside.
Would Sunday the 19th of March be too soon for people in the evening say 6p.m ish?
It would be great if we could get meets kicked off up North as soon as possible and therefore get together and discuss ideas for the summer when the weathers better, personally I think having a few locations in one night would be a great idea as were all sensible drivers and be nice to see the cars on the move!

Ive PM'd everyone that put there name up on the list in the other thread and a couple of others aswell so everyone knows about the thread (you have no excuse :beer: )
Hopefully we can all get together and have a good meet.
Its not closed to North East members so if anyone from outside the area would like to come along make sure you bring your passports and you wont have a problem getting in!

Yeah we'll be there, if I can't get a babysitter being short notice I'll throw them in the play area in the pub :beammeup: Might be a bit late if Pete finishes work late thats all. It is a family pub with a children's play area.

well as long as the 480 duznt throw another one of its electrical wobblys I should be there too!
I was hoping to have the suspension tore out and replaced this weekend but i'm running desperately short of workshop space at the minute and think it'll have to wait another week.... suppose the kids can always use it as a bouncy castle :bounce: !!! Just dont hold me responsible if they get an electric shock :yikes:

Tried to organise it for as early as possible on the evening so can hopefully get some pics of the cars etc, as its a first meet think it will be a good idea to all sit down have chat for a while and get to know each other and discuss ideas for future meets.
Some of the best meets ive been to in the past have included 2 or 3 locations in one night and its something would really enjoy doing with the Volvo's travelling about a bit. Will see how the night goes!
No probs mrs mopp, hardly around the corner for you!

thats sounds cool to me......U in teeside like Aftershock?? how long you drove a t5?? only just had mine 10 days 2morrow but wanted one for years.......i must say im loving it!!!... T5s get a lot of respect from anyone who knows anything about cars......

Yeah im down on Teeside, had T5's for over 3 years now.

I'm going to pop in tomorrow and see if they an keep us an area for 10, noones said they are not coming alone yet. Then if there is any more we can budge up and find more seats. If they will I'll get them to do the tables from 6,30pm if thats ok ? Or should I say later ?

Pub reckon it'll be quiet enough to go without reserving a seating area for about 15, so we'll see what happens tomorrow. We might be a bit later that 6 aswell, just depends what time Pete gets out of work.

You come off the A167 at the Arnison Centre Pity Me and turn left, then it is on the right not far after the roundabout. There is a Brewers Fayre and Travel Inn sign, the pub is called the Dunelm Ridge still I think.

You are right, kinda lol it's a Brewers Fayre pub. We should be there on time ish! Just got to hope my 2 boys behave now :troutslap expecting a miracle I think. I just suggested we got in my car incase they wanted to go early and I was told 'Don't be stupid we'll look silly at a Volvo meet in a Ford' :bricks: Guess thats me told. Anyone bringing a camera as I don't know where ours is ?

Really sorry i couldn't make it, i was at a friends 21st in the middle of nowhere (way past Consett)

Anyway me and Mickys60t5 were talking today and we were thinking about a north east monthly meet? .. where we can get toghether every last sunday of the month for example, somewhere different each time or even the same place. Just and idea .. maybe we could work on it or something.
