Going backwards round corners hasn't ever been a problem - until now! Anyone else had issues selecting reverse on the manual box? It seems that putting it into 1st then back into reverse clears the blockage (where before the stick would go only half way in)... signs of impending doom? Quick fix? 855 T5
Also the reversing light only comes on when the stick's right back, otherwise it just flickers on and off as it makes contact... :wtf:
Any pointers? Cheers!

Could be a build up of sludge inside the box? Do a box flush and get some new fluid in there. If it doesnt get better then you know you have more expensive issues.

Both our 850 T5's have the occasional (prob about 50% of the time) issues when selecting reverse. Like you say, going into 1st and back into reverse sorts it out.
I wouldn't worry about it too much, our 855 T5 has done this for the past 45k miles and the 854 T5 for the past 20k or so with no issues :)

A couple of mine have done it and gone on merrily for 30k more to date with no issues. The no reverse light issue is the switch on the top of the gearbox nearing the end, they are about £20 + VAT from the dealer and 10 mins to fit :)

My S70 does it too a lot of the time, and the reverse light doesn't come on either. Just ignore it in the hope that it will go away LOL
