New Tyres :-)

At long last my front P6000's have worn out :-) and I have fitted some Goodyear Eagle F1's. I am amazed at the difference it has made. The notorious S60 front end wander/tramlining has gone and it turns in much better as well. Very happy!
The only downside is that the idiots fitted dirty great lead weights to the outside rims of the wheels, not the inside :slap: I took it back and they fitted weights to the inside of the wheel, but it has left slight marks on my nice black alloys :nono:

I concur.
Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD-3s are still one of the best out there as a performance tyre.
It's a close call with the Bridgestone S-05s as both score highly in tyre tests.
I think the Goodyear loses out with a little more rolling resistance.
Not sure how the Toyo Proxes T1-R compare.
The Goodyears are more readily available and offer excellent VFM - easily under £100 per corner fitted and balanced
Oh, they look pretty cool too.

I will try not to rant again about how much i love these tyres. They really are good and way better than anything else i've tried

Gary - seriously mate about the 225s...Even been careful they've worn the plastic inserts. Going down to 215s - cause far less damage.

Hi Mate yes i know what you mean my inner plastic arch lookes like a tea bag, as you say 215 do cause less damage, and i won't get wheelspin on the new car, unlike the old one,

Only thing i don't like about having the smaller width is the silly look it can have on some wheels, not sure if your pegs are 8j or 7.5j ? My Tritons are 7.5 so they might look ok, but i would rather have the extra width and protect my rims and tyres at the expense of my plastic wheel arch.
So my AC, A snazzy EBC in the pipe line? otherwise boy are you gonna spin matey :)
Gary.
PS Eagle's rule IMO.

Gary Gary Gary - with a properly mapped car and a correctly weighted right foot I have no need of your fancy EBC gadgets.

Not sure who mentioned the Toyo T1-R's v F1's but I would not recommend the Toyo's. The original T1S were fantastic in both wet and dry. The newer ones have a harder, continuous band of rubber around the outer edges to reduce the chances of the edges being chewed under hard driving which many found to be a problem with the S. The problem is that this takes a bit of time to get up to temperature when driving hard and the cornering suffers as a result. It also suffers in the wet and cold...especially greasy roundabouts. The F1 takes very little effort to get the most out of them and are a great all year round tyre. I have used them on the vec and found them to be fantastic if a little short lived...although that can be said for most performance tyres! The T1R is great on roads that have had the pebbles put into the bitumen surface, they really seem to dig in but again, only in the dry or after a thorough hard warming up...until then they again feel a bit dicey. The Michelin Pilot Sports are possibly slightly better than the F1's but I have not been able to compare them on the same car. A short lived but underrated tyre is the Avon ZZ3. It is not an outstanding tyre but is significantly cheaper than the opposition and can be had in 215/45/17 for £65-70. I have used these on a few cars and found them to be progressive and quite sticky.
Hope that helps some of you..

Well i just put some 18s on Toyo T1s on my Cossy so will see how they go, tread looks just as sexy as the F1 too.
